So why not romance writing?
Over 35% of fiction sold in North America is romance and about 50 in paperback.
What draws so many readers to this genre? Simply put romance focuses on the one topic that all readers know about—the human condition. They look for “the moments” in a story in which they can sympathise with the characters.
New writers can sharpen their skills in this genre by developing their voice. Mills and Boon is a great advocate of this as it still considers submissions from aspiring writers without an agent.
Writers must not get the impression that this is an easy genre to write. It has its own set of rules such as market research, manuscript presentation and submission guidelines.
Next time check out the first rule - market research – a rule you certainly wouldn’t want to break.

I don’t like romance fiction myself, but I do like my fantasy or science fiction stories to have a bit of a love interest in them.
Good luck with your blog, by the way.
